Selection Criteria
Due to limited funding, applications must be selected on a competitive basis. Applications will be rated on academics, quality of the discussion paper and probability of the completion of the applicant’s chosen academic program. Probability of program completion is scored based on the applicant’s academic classification in regard to completion of the student’s degree (e.g. college senior applicants receive more points than a college freshman). A scholarship committee comprised of UCTA chapter board members will score all eligible applications based on these three categories and applicants with the highest total composite scores selected. Both the applicant’s and member’s names are withheld from the committee until final selection is made.
